Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information the operator of Rigly Plant Hire Insights ("we") collects through Rigly Plant Hire Insights, why, and what your rights are under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). We are the responsible party for the information described here.
1. What we collect
Account details: the name, email address and sign-in details of each person who uses the service.
Company details: the company name, registration and VAT numbers, contact details and address that the owner gives us.
Business records: the machines, sites, operators, rates and rentals your company enters. These may include the names of your operators.
Billing information: which plan you have and whether it is paid. Card details are handled by PayFast and never reach us.
Technical information: basic logs that show when and how the service was used, so we can keep it secure and fix faults.
2. Why we use it
To provide the service, to sign people in, to send account and billing messages, to take payment, to keep the service secure, and to meet our legal duties. We do not sell personal information and we do not use your business records for advertising.
3. Who else handles it
We use trusted providers to run the service: for sign-in and company accounts, for hosting the application, for the database, for payments (PayFast) and for sending email. They may only use the information to provide their service to us.
Some of these providers store or process information outside South Africa, for example in Europe. Where that happens we take steps to make sure the information stays protected as POPIA requires.
4. Keeping it safe
Each company's data is kept separate from every other company's, and access is limited by role. Connections are encrypted. No system is perfectly secure, and if information is compromised we will tell the people affected and the Information Regulator as the law requires.
5. How long we keep it
While your company has an account we keep its data. If a subscription lapses the data is kept but locked, and it is deleted permanently 6 months after the lockout begins unless the company reactivates first. Records we must keep by law, such as billing records, are kept for as long as the law requires.
6. Your rights
You may ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. For business records, the company's owner is usually the right person to ask first. You may also complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.
7. Cookies
We use only the cookies the service needs to keep you signed in and to protect your account. We do not use advertising cookies.
8. Changes and contact
If we change this policy in an important way we will tell the owner. You can contact us at info@rigly.co.za.
